April, 2009February brought a big boost to the $150,000 Visitor Orientation Film Campaign. Three pledges, totaling $65,000 put the campaign almost to the halfway point, bringing the total raised to date to $73,000. The Amon Carter Foundation pledged $50,000, BNSF joined the campaign with a $10,000 gift and the Union Pacific Foundation made a $5,000 pledge. All three of these foundations have a history of supporting the Friends and Big Bend National Park. They have long made the park a priority in their giving, and we thank them for their contributions to this important effort. This film will have a lasting and visible impact on park visitors and their safety. Thanks to each foundation for their steadfast support!
