Lloyd Day, M.Ed., has been named new Executive Director of The Learning Center of North Texas in Fort Worth (TLCNT). The announcement was made by Barbara W. Jiongo, TLCNT Board Chair. He succeeds retiring Executive Director Dr. Leslie James who has led TLCNT since July of 2010. Day served as TLCNT’s Director of Administration during the past year.

Day holds a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Texas Woman’s University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University. He was a teacher and principal for 33 years in Arlington ISD. He began his administrative career as principal at Speer Elementary in Arlington.  After serving three years as the principal of Pine Tree Elementary in Longview, Texas, he returned to Arlington ISD and served as principal at both Berry Elementary and Lynn Hale Academy.  Later, Day served as a secondary school administrator at Boles Junior High School and Turning Point High School in Arlington ISD before returning to the elementary level to complete his career as principal at Hill Elementary School.

In addition to public school teaching and administration, Day has taught as an adjunct professor at the University of Texas at Arlington.  He serves on the Board of Directors for Key School of Fort Worth.
