A BIG Cheer, The BIG Give & A BIG Season Ahead
Cactus Pear Music Festival

April, 2016

We extend a BIG CHEER for the EIGHT student musicians who won their auditions for a FULL-scholarship fellowship in CPMF's
13th Annual Young Artist Program [YAP].

The YAP winners are:

Rhiannon Bishop, piano [18, Home Schooled]
Scott Rogers, piano [17, Judson HS]
Darrian Lee, violin [18, Johnson HS]
Deborah Olivier, violin [16, Communication Arts HS]
Isaac Fuentes, viola [16, Alamo Heights HS]
Victoria Day, cello [15, Roosevelt HS]
Jacob Resendez, cello [16, Churchill HS]
Emmali Ouderkirk, bassoon [16, Steele HS]

Is Education a primary interest of yours?
Would you like to sponsor a YAP Fellow?

CPMF's YAP Fellows enjoy a 2.5 week intensive workshop in which they study with the professional Festival musicians who teach, coach and mentor them, ALL TUITION FREE. San Antonio Symphony's own Craig Sorgi is the Education Director who shapes and directs these talented young musicians into a finely-honed ensemble
by Festival's end.
The YAP Fellows have multiple opportunities to perform in public and learn first-hand the art of sharing their gifts
with the community in which they live.

-- SPONSOR A SCHOLARSHIP --
It's a gift that will continue giving for a lifetime. In fact, four of our YAP Alumni, all now professionals, are coming back this festival season to perform with CPMF. Scholarship monies in the past
helped these four travel the road to professional music careers.
This is a tremendous program for the serious young artist,
an educational program of which we are very proud.
We appreciate your support of this invaluable program.

Please email our Executive Director Renee Davis to find out more.

We are coming up soon on May 3rd, the day San Antonio citizens "turn out" in force to meet the BIG GIVE challenge of raising monies for the non-profit organizations
that make San Antonio the great place to live
and valued community that it is.

Mark your calendars and make a donation on May 3rd through Big Give: each donation helps us qualify for additional matching gifts and cash prizes.
