More than 1,100 Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) athletes and Unified Partners in the Greater Dallas area will hit the hardwood for the 2016 Area 10 Basketball Competition on Friday, Feb. 26 and Saturday, Feb. 27. The event is hosted by Allen ISD and will be held at 15 different gyms across 13 campuses within the district. Volunteers are heavily needed to assist in various capacities, such as referees/officials, scorekeeping, timekeeping, bookkeeping, first aid support and many other roles.
This tournament will include team competition and an individual skills challenge for athletes. Team competition will run from 6:00 p.m. through 8:00 p.m. on Friday and pick up at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and last until 4:00 p.m.
The Opening Ceremony will be held at 11:20 a.m. on Saturday at Curtis Middle School
