On January 23,more than 1,000 kids in our i play! afterschool program will be participating in a volleyball tournament at Mission Concepción Sports Park, putting together all they have learned over the last five weeks.
And next month you won't want to miss a very special evening as we induct the Class of 2016 into the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame on Feb. 27. All-Stars Shine
The San Antonio Sports All-Star Football Game, presented by H-E-B served as the final game for more than 100 seniors from the San Antonio area representing 56 high schools. From kickoff to the end of the fourth quarter, the game did not disappoint, showcasing all that makes high school football a passion of so many Texans. There were exciting touchdowns, hard hits, defensive lapses, cheerleaders and more. A crowd of 13,440 saw the West best the East, 35-23. The Whataburger Impact Player of the Game was Taft High School's Christian Mallard who had 14 carries and three touchdowns. Regardless of the score, the game proved San Antonio has amazing football talent. Thanks to West Coach Bryan Dausin and East Coach Charles Bruce and their staffs, for their time, effort and leadership.
The game would not have been possible without our sponsors. Thanks to presenting sponsor
H-E-B, and CPS Energy, University Health System, Muy! Pizza Hut, plus media partners WOAI News 4 San Antonio, the CW 35, KABB Fox 29, Time Warner Cable and ESPN Radio 1250.

Volunteer of the Year
Congratulations to our 2015 Volunteer of the Year Kendal Draycott. She worked over 80 hours at our events last year, helping us make a difference in our community. Kendal began volunteering with San Antonio Sports five years ago at the Rock 'n' Roll San Antonio Marathon. Now she is one of our key volunteers, helping with many of our events. However, her favorite is the Valor Games Southwest. "I love supporting our military and supporting our city and everything San Antonio Sports does for the community," she explains. "I love helping San Antonio Sports because they offer such a great variety of things to volunteer for." Thanks Kendal for all your time, dedication and energy.
