Alpha Home Awarded Highest CARF Accreditation
Alpha Home, Inc.

April, 2015

CARF International (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) announced that Alpha Home has been accredited for a period of three years for its Residential, Outpatient and Prevention programs. The latest accreditation is the second consecutive Three-Year Accreditation that the international accrediting body, CARF, has awarded to Alpha Home.

As an organization that has been around for 50 years with an exceptional reputation from clients and community leaders across the city, Alpha Home’s CARF International survey confirmed the organization's commitment to clients and the community. Last month, for three straight days, Alpha Home put itself through a meticulous peer review process as a team of CARF-International surveyors examined services and treatment programs. This accreditation proved Alpha Home is up to CARF's internationally recognized service standards and best practice. Alpha Home’s commitment and services are measurable, accountable, and of the highest quality.

Founded in 1966, Alpha Home is the leading provider of inpatient and outpatient substance abuse services to low-income women in Bexar County, serving almost 800 women annually with an average success rate of 86% of women who stop using drugs and alcohol each year.  Alpha Home provides a spiritually based substance abuse treatment program for women to prepare them to become more productive members of society. Treatment is delivered via two core programs: Residential program and the Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment program with a full continuum of services for four-six months that also includes programs for their families.  Clients receive confidential, highly individualized treatment, including medical and mental health assessments, individual, family and group counseling, addiction and recovery education, trauma counseling, anger management, GED instruction, 12-Step support, career counseling, relapse prevention education, life skills, drug and alcohol education, trauma therapy, and extensive case management services.

CARF is an independent, nonprofit accrediting body whose mission is to promote the quality, value, and optimal outcomes of services through a consultative accreditation process that centers on enhancing the lives of the persons served. For more information about the accreditation process, please visit the CARF website at www.carf.org.
