Nominate Your Local Sports Hero
Whenever I walk by the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame which is located in the Alamodome, I'm impressed with the distinguished talent that has ties to San Antonio and have been elected into the hall. You have an opportunity to nominate your local sports hero for inclusion in the San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame. Public nominations are being accepted now through July 20 via MySanAntonio.com. Click here for details and to make a nomination. A selection committee made up of community leaders, members of the media and members of the Hall of Fame will make recommendations on the Class of 2015 later this summer. Be the first to find out who made it into the hall at our San Antonio Sports Charity Golf Classic (see story below) October 6 when we announce the Class of 2015.
Then save the date for our induction ceremony which will be held Saturday, February 28 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center. The 2015 San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame Tribute promises to be an incredible evening, with a top notch live and silent auction and a live performance by Grand Funk Railroad. Join us in celebrating those who have helped transform our community through the power of sport and be a part of our San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame.

|Former SAS Chairman Bob Coleman Passes Away|
|San Antonio Sports lost a dear friend and influential supporter when Bob Coleman passed away this past weekend. Bob was the chairman of San Antonio Sports from 1988 -1993 when the organization hosted the U.S. Olympic Festival. He was inducted into the first San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame class in 1995 and led the charge to bring the first NCAA Men's Final Four to the Alamo City in 1998. Bob also helped to establish the Alamo Bowl and organized the local ownership group that kept the San Antonio Spurs in the Alamo City. His business acumen and passion for sports still impact our city today. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Coleman family, including his wife Ann and their son Brock.
Thanks to the San Antonio Express-News for this story and the photos of Bob doing what he loved best -- bringing premier sporting events to our city.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made in Bob's name to San Antonio Sports, a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization. Donations may be made online or mailed to:
