Lutheran Social Services of the South Announces Leadership Appointments

Lutheran Social Services of the South (LSS), an organization committed to ending multigenerational child abuse through innovative children’s services, announced the leadership appointments of Murray Chanow as Vice President of Community Integration, Knox Kimberly as Vice President of Advocacy & Education and Mike Nevergall as Vice President of Agency Advancement.

Chanow joined LSS in 2013 as the Statewide Recruitment Director for Foster In Texas, a program of LSS that provides training and support to foster parents. In his new role as Vice President of Community Integration, Chanow will work cross-functionally to create an integrated strategy to deliver programs and resources aimed at ending multigenerational child abuse across communities, beginning with Austin, Texas, where LSS is headquartered. With over 20 years of experience, Chanow has designed public affairs strategic planning programs for corporate, trade association and non-profit clients including Adoption Coalition of Texas, C2 Consulting, Sprint Nextel Corporation and National Association of Federal Credit Unions. Chanow holds a B.A. from Bethany College and a M.B.A from Virginia Tech.

Kimberly brings more than 30 years of experience in law, policy and advocacy and public service from his former home state of Arizona, the most recent 12 of which serving as managing principal of Phoenix-based Triadvocates LLC, a preeminent public affairs consulting firm.  In his role as Vice President of Advocacy and Education for LSS, Kimberly will use his expertise successfully representing a wide range of economic and social interests in the non-profit sector to advance the organization’s mission. Kimberly holds a B.S. from Arizona State University and a J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles.

 

Nevergall joined LSS in 2013 as Associate Vice President of Development.  In his role as Vice President of Agency Advancement, he will lead the team of gift planners who work with individuals, groups and congregations to provide financial support for the mission and ministry of the organization. Prior to joining LSS, Nevergall worked for eight years at the denominational headquarters of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). He holds a B.S. from Valparaiso University and a M.N.A. from North Park University.
