In 2007, a national Panel on the Nonprofit Sector identified 33 “Principles for Good Governance and Ethical Practice” that are designed to guide board members and staff professionals of charitable organizations as they work to improve their own operations.  The San Antonio Area Foundation is presenting the 33 principles throughout the year during four quarterly sessions.

The quarterly sessions will be held: 

March 19 - Effective Governance 
June 18 - Legal Compliance
September 17 - Financial Oversight
December 17 - Responsible Fundraising

The City of San Antonio, Department of Human Services is sponsoring a two-part workshop on Performance Measures and Grant Writing Workshops for local non-profit organizations. These workshops are designed to assist agencies in performance measure development and effective grant writing to submit a bid for funding through the City of San Antonio’s Request For Proposal (RFP) process. The classes are offered at no cost and attendance is not required. Agencies can attend either the morning or afternoon Intro Sessions on April 1 or April 2 and a morning or afternoon Conclusion Sessions on April 3 or April 4.

Impact San Antonio is pleased to announce the grant application process for 2014. We invite nonprofit agencies seeking funding for a new program or an expansion of an existing program to apply in one of our five focus areas: Arts & Culture; Education; Environment, Recreation, & Preservation; Family; and Health & Wellness to apply. We will be accepting applications beginning March 1st and the submission deadline is March 31st at 5:00 pm. Nonprofits will be able to login and view the application beginning 
February 26th.

The 501 Tech Club is a monthly gathering of people working on nonprofit technology in the San Antonio area. Our gatherings are opportunities for anyone interested in helping nonprofits use technology to get together and talk shop in a fun, informal setting, and our name refers to the fact that most of us work primarily with and for 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.
