Texas Left Me Out: The Launch of a New Campaign
Today is the official launch the Texas Left Me Out campaign, a campaign in English and Spanish to collect stories from Texans left in the coverage gap and connect them with available health care options and efforts to fix the Texas coverage gap.
What is the coverage gap?
Under the nation's health law, every person was supposed to have a way to get health care coverage. People with low incomes would get Medicaid as long as their state leaders agreed. But since Texas said no, now many Texans are left in a coverage gap. The coverage gap includes veterans and their spouses, as well as workers in construction, child care, health care, retail, restaurant, and service industries.
