AWKWARD FAMILY PHOTO DAY

Saturday, December 14, 2013

12 - 4 PM

Free!

The holidays are here and it is time to get that annual family portrait made! You know the one that your mother keeps hounding you about. Why not make it an interesting one? On Saturday December 14, 2013, 12-4 PM, come have your Christmas portrait made by Lawndale Studio Artist Emily Peacock. Bring yourself, your family or your friends! Feel free to wear your tackiest holiday sweater or matching poinsettia dresses (Thanks mom!). Also, you may bring any props you deem necessary for your portrait. After all you wouldn't want to disappoint your mother. Emily will also have her studio open with her newest work that references the history of family portraiture on display.

2013 Annual Fund

Lawndale Art Center has engaged the Houston community as THE place to experience local contemporary art for free. Because of generous support from the community, Lawndale serves both individuals, who are interested in participating in and learning about the creative process, and artists who wish to offer their work to larger audiences. All programs presented here are produced by local artists with only modest financial support to assist with the cost of creating new work. Much of this work would often be able to be presented elsewhere due to its site-specific, experimental or ephemeral nature.

At the end of the year we understand that many worthwhile organizations are asking for contributions to their Annual Fund campaigns. A gift to Lawndale Art Center gives artists the freedom to create and audiences the opportunity to explore new ideas.

Please consider supporting our 2013 Annual Fund. YOU help US make great things happen at Lawndale and we could not be more grateful for your support.

Thank you!
Christine West
Executive Director
