Dr. Nielsen-Gammon joined the faculty at Texas A&M University in 1991 and was appointed Texas State Climatologist in 2000. His research involves such topics as jet streams, heavy rain, sea breezes, air pollution, data assimilation, climate data quality, and drought monitoring and forecasting.
