"The Art of Translation"

To  bring literature over the bridge from one language to another is to  expand
one's understanding of another people, another culture, another  way of thinking.
In this four week investigation into the ideas and  practices of translation, we
will review the changes in the processes of  translation in the last thirty years.
We also will work on individual  translations projects beginning with Francis Bacon
and progressing to  translating works from our own favorite foreign writers based
on our  individual language abilities. BUT, if you only know English, have no  fear!
Come and participate. Many works of literature in English need to  be retranslated
into our contemporary language. Click here to learn more. [http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?e=0015NzIyEabe42kqX_Gkh2YFzEdfiTSDmy3OMpKtgd_QA48TA-sWYNztGidMoxnWZfXGEQDKMnY6nN0a0w-5OwUBNe46JO60Huib49csDbSTpR0ueRZUrG3AO8VVo0cZkERa6xEof4Z-LY=]
