International Exotic Animal Sanctuary News

We're Thankful for Your Support!

With the year winding down and Thanksgiving on the horizon, we've been thinking about wonderful all of you are. Your support makes everything we do for the animals of IEAS each day possible. It's no exaggeration to say that we couldn't give the Sanctuary residents the quality of life we do without YOU, so THANK YOU to each and every one of you who has liked, shared, supported, donated, or loved the animals of the International Exotic Animal Sanctuary! Keep up your wonderful generosity and support!

Don't Miss This Wonderful Opportunity!

Well, we hope you all had a wonderful Halloween! With that holiday behind us, it’s time to start thinking about the next few. Don’t put your shopping off until the last minute! NOW is the time to order your one of a kind drawing of an IEAS resident as a gift for your family member or friend (or for YOU, of course)! This is a “time sensitive” gift, so don’t delay!

Nissa Marione, Lead Keeper and Education Coordinator at IEAS, would love to donate her time and talents to provide you with an amazing 8 x 10 drawing of your favorite animal. It's such a wonderful chance to honor your favorite animal in a unique way, and to our many adoptive parents, this is a wonderful opportunity to receive a unique drawing of your adopted animal. All proceeds will go directly to the IEAS animals!

Nissa would like to ask for a donation of $200 for each portrait and $250 for each full body drawing that she does. Remember, all proceeds collected will directly benefit the IEAS animals, so you won't just be purchasing a drawing, you'll be bettering the lives of the rescued animals living at the Sanctuary!

If you are interested in this special opportunity,
please contact our office at 940-433-5091
or e-mail us at richard@bigcat.org.
Remember, order NOW to ensure that you
get your drawing by the holiday season!

Looking for some other holiday gift ideas? You can always Adopt an Animal for a loved one or make them a Feline Friend or Bear Buddy by purchasing an Animal Packet! How about making a donation in someone’s name? There are so many WILD options for this holiday season from IEAS!

Get the Word Out!

Many of you have already done us the generous favor of writing a review about IEAS on Great Non-profits in the hopes of helping us become a Top Rated Non-Profit for 2012, and we truly THANK YOU!

Anyone who has yet to write a review, now is the time! We have until November 15th to get as high up on the list of Top Rated Non-profits as possible. Top Rated Non-profits will win NATIONAL media coverage and a chance to be spotlighted in Huff Post’s IMPACT, Parade, and Take Part.

The list of Top Rated Non-profits will be distributed to the media and THOUSANDS of corporate giving programs throughout the United States. Non-profits on the list will also get coverage in charity support sources such as Charity Navigator, Guide Star, Network for Good, Global Giving, and Just Give.org. Imagine the huge number of potential new supporters for the IEAS animals! All it takes is a few more reviews from YOU and our other amazing supporters!

November Birthdays!

Nakita
Female Bobcat
Born: November 3, 2005
Rescued: January 4, 2009

Nakita is easily one of the most playful residents of IEAS. She loves to play with all of the tennis balls we have put into her habitat, particularly when the keepers play WITH her! We will throw the balls and she goes jumping and flipping in the air to try and snag them. She always manages to catch the ball, no matter how tricky the toss! Happy 7th Birthday Nakita!

Makeen
Male Bengal Tiger
Born: November 9, 1996
Rescued: January 1, 2006

Makeen is a fairly private tiger, but that won’t stop him from winning you over. It always takes time to gain Makeen’s trust, but once you’ve got it, you’ll hear his quiet but extremely sweet and rewarding chuffs as you approach his habitat. He is always happy to see a friend but loves nothing more than relaxing with his head on the edge of his pool on a warm day! Happy 16th Makeen!

Barnum
Male Bengal Tiger
Born: November 9, 1993
Rescued: January 1, 1998

Barnum is a quiet tiger who likes to have peaceful time to himself. His favorite days are those during which the temperature and the sun are just right, allowing him to bask on a perch and feel the warmth of the rays. We love to see Barnum enjoying this simple thing – sunlight – because, as a retired circus tiger, he wasn’t afforded that luxury in his past. Happy 19th Birthday Barnum!
