Heart Gallery of Central Texas Sponsorships

We are just a few weeks away from announcing the date for the 2012 Heart Gallery of Central Texas Unveiling in September and are ready to start accepting individual and business sponsorships for this outstanding event.  This year’s Heart Gallery will also feature a silent auction with many great items.

If you are interested in donating an item for the silent auction or learning more about the different sponsorship levels available, please call the Coalition’s Executive Director, Murray Chanow, at (512) 450-8608.

ACT Recipient of Women’s Fund of Central Texas Grant

The Adoption Coalition of Texas was recently awarded a $10,000 grant from the Women’s Fund of Central Texas, a member-based organization that awards grants to programs that benefit children and women in the Central Texas area. The Adoption Coalition was recognized as one of ten grant recipients at the Women’s Fund annual Power of the Purse luncheon on February 8th in Austin, Texas.

We extend our deepest appreciation to the members of the Women’s Fund of Central Texas for their generosity and desire to assist us in finding permanent homes for the more than 600 waiting central Texas foster children.

Thank You YNN Forever Families Filming Venues

Many of you have seen the weekly Forever Family child profile segments which air on Time Warner Cable’s YNN channel every Sunday. We strive to make the experience fun and special for the profiled child and film an activity in which the child has expressed an interest. An engaged and happy child results in an appealing video profile for prospective families.

We deeply appreciate the time, generosity, and kindness our hosts extend to the children each week. We’d like to thank all of our filming hosts and recognize the venues from January and February of this year:

Centers for Children & Families

St. Andrew’s Episcopal School

Austin Children’s Museum

Café Monet

The LEGO Store at Barton Creek Mall

Hoop Zone

Austin Animal Center

Spirit Reins

All Forever Families segments can be viewed from the Coalition’s website and are posted weekly on our Facebook page.

If you or your business are in the greater Austin area and are interested in learning more about hosting a segment filming, please contact Lisa Reed at lisareed@adopttexas.org

Secret Santa Gift Program Huge Success

Thanks to many wonderful Secret Santas, we were able to fulfill the Gift Wish Lists of a record 375 children! Your generosity provided hope and joy to not only the kids, but their foster families and caseworkers. It truly was a group effort and we couldn't possibly have done it without the help of so many people.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to each and every one of you who assisted with the gift program:

·         the many individuals & groups of Secret Santas who adopted one or more children

·         Circle C Child Development Center for adopting 46 children

·         Circle C Neighborhood Association for collecting and donating gifts

·         Whit Hanks for donating warehouse space & Pam Rutkowski for property assistance

·         Kelly Peel with Peel, Inc. for newsletter space

We also would like to thank the businesses who acted as North Pole gift drop-off locations along with individuals who helped in so many ways:

·         Cash Construction Company, Inc (Cris Campbell)

·         Austin Real Estate Partners (Terri Savage and Melinda & Bob McKenna)

·         Environmental Safety Services (Stacey Reinhart & Gabby Dollinger)

·         Roadway Specialties (Sharon Chandler)

Thank you everyone for making the holidays brighter for so many children!
