Sermon Series



Join us on Sundays as we study Revelation in a sermon series entitled The Glimpse: A Journey Through the Revelation to John. We will consider together the record of John’s vision, recorded in the last book of the Bible. It is packed with powerful imagery and riveting drama, and has important messages for Christians today.

NOTE DATE CHANGE: August 11-13, Life is a Cabaret! A Kander & Ebb Revue, directed by Susan Shofner, musical direction by Rob Landes and featuring the best talents that St. Luke’s has to offer! At 7 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.

August 19-20 at 7 p.m. and August 20-21 matinees at 2:30 p.m. in the Rotunda Theater
Babes on Broadway, featuring the best of Pure Sound Youth Choir directed by Steve McCurdy, musical direction by Sid Davis.

Calling all Children's Sunday School teachers
for the 2011-2012 Sunday School year!
Good things to know:
     * Teachers are part of a team

     * You will not be required to teach every Sunday

     * Positions are available for every class age level

     * Training will be held in late August

August 7, Christian Community Service Center’s (CCSC) Back-to-School Donation Collection: Your $45 donation buys new uniform, shoes and school supplies for a child in need. Bring your donation to the Connection Center or put it in the offering plate. Checks made payable to St. Luke’s with Back-to-School on the memo line
August 6, CCSC Back-to School distribution of school uniforms and supplies needs volunteers on July 30 (7:30 a.m.-1 p.m.) and August 6 (7:30 a.m.-5 p.m.)  at Faith Lutheran Church, 4600 Bellaire Blvd. (just inside Loop 610 at Avenue B). Contact Jeni at 713-961-3993, ext. 215.

August 14, Commit2Care Blood Drive at the Gethsemane Campus, 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in Canterbury Hall.
