Sermon Series and Small Groups


Starting June 19 we will study Revelation in a sermon series entitled The Glimpse: A Journey Through the Revelation to John. Come each Sunday this summer as we consider together the record of John’s vision, recorded in the last book of the Bible. It is packed with powerful imagery and riveting drama, and has important messages for Christians today.

Mission Trips change lives

September 17-24, Mission Trip to Jackson, Mississippi
to work with the Zechariah 8 Community Project of the John M. Perkins Foundation. The team will renovate a house that will provide safe, secure and stable housing for a single mother and her family, thereby being a part of the answer to the breakdown of families and communities. Cost of the trip is $750. Contact Susan Silvus at 713-402-5045

Adult Ministries, Coordinator of Embracing Communities
Full Time / Sunday through Thursday
The coordinator of Embracing Communities will enable the Adult Ministries team to focus energy on building relationships with, supporting, and equipping the existing 32 Adult Sunday School classes, and to begin new embracing communities as appropriate. The ideal applicant will have exceptionally strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to invest heavily in the lives and ministries of our congregation.

Gethsemane Campus Children’s Coordinator
30 hours / Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday and others as necessary
Oversee and embrace the development of a multicultural ministry for children ages 2 months through 5th grade with the primary focus on building a Christian foundation that lasts a lifetime.  Supported by the Children’s Assistant Coordinator.

June 16-19, Summer Stock Theater begins with The Fantasticks featuring Mikel Bigelow and Elizabeth Pearson Bigelow. Performances Thursday-Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Rotunda Theater. Donations benefit Bridges Academy music scholarships, summer internships and outreach to public schools.
