Monarch Academy at Morgan's Wonderland to Open Fall, 2011!
This Fall there will be a new addition to Morgan's Wonderland! The Monarch Academy at Morgan's Wonderland will open for the 2011-2012 school year to provide students with special needs a unique learning environment so they can reach their maximum potential.
This unique school will provide an alternative to traditional special education through the development of individualized educational programs for each student, and will offer an integrated curriculum in a non-traditional setting. The core concentration areas will be life skills, academic skills, communication skills, social skills, work-readiness skills and vocational skills. And since the Monarch Academy is located just next door to Morgan's Wonderland, the world's first ultra-accessible family fun park, the school benefits from programs and facilities not available anywhere else.
The Monarch Academy will also boast low student/teacher ratios of 2:1 for one third of the students, 4:1 for another third and 6:1 for the remaining thrird of the student body. The integration of traditional academics, life skills, work-readiness and vocational training will be offered in an environment that both encourages and challenges each individual to reach his or her personal best. Students entering 6th grade through age 18 are invited to apply for admission.
