This is a great time of year to visit the Witte. Think Fiesta is over? Not at the Witte. Our 2011 Fiesta exhibit still sparkles with all the pageantry of a royal coronation. Looking for great outdoor activities? Come ride the SkyCycle or climb Mt. Witte. Want to see some cool live animals? Check out Texas Alive and the variety of live creatures featured in the Amazon exhibit. Would exciting after-hours events fit your busy schedule? We have them for young and old. Expect hours of fun and learning for the entire family every time you visit your Witte Museum.

Sunday Jazz at the Witte
The Three Divas

Sunday, May 8
4 - 7 p.m.

Join us for a special Mother's Day Sunday Jazz at the Witte, featuring The Three Divas! Come early with the entire family, bring a blanket or lawn chair and pick a spot in the courtyard to enjoy a relaxing afternoon of jazz.

 

 

 

 

 

Food and beverages are available for purchase, provided by TÖST Bistro. No outside food or drink, please. Museum galleries close at 5 p.m.; however, the H-E-B Science Treehouse remains open until 7 p.m. Sunday Jazz is held rain or shine; in the case of rain, the Witte has great indoor facilities. Included with museum admission.

Cocktails and Culture: The Witte Uncorked!

On the Edge

6 - 9 p.m.

Feel the rush as you test your limits after-hours at the H-E-B Science Treehouse. Defy gravity on the H-E-Buddy SkyCycle®, shake it on the Move It! A Game of Action dance floor and climb to new heights on Mt. Witte, a 20-ft. rock climbing wall. For serious thrill-seekers, blind folded climbs of Mt. Witte will be available. Hang on tight and don't look down!

Wear your best explorer gear; close-toed shoes required for Mt. Witte. This adventure is for guests 21 and older. Complimentary hors d' oeuvres and live music on the courtyard are provided. Cash bar available.

A Night at the Witte:
The Amazon After Dark

Get ready for a night of exploration! A Night at the Witte is a great opportunity to discover science and the environment while spending the night at the museum. Take a voyage down the Amazon River and explore the current exhibit Amazon Voyage: Vicious Fishes and Other Riches.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cost is $40 per child (age 9 and older) and $15 per adult. A minimum of 40 participants or $1,600 per program is required, with a minimum of one chaperone per child. Available upon request. Amazon Adventure: July 11 - 15 and July 25 - 29

Expedition San Antonio River: July 18 - 22 and August 1 - 5

The entire week of exhibit-related day camps is designed for children in grades 1 - 2 and 3 - 5. All sessions are 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. Cost is $180 per week for museum members and $230 per week for non-members; $45 per day for museum members and $55 per day for non-members. A limited number of need-based scholarships are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Help the Witte Celebrate 85 years, in 85 days with $85,000

 

 

 

An anonymous donor has challenged the Witte to raise $85,000 this summer in celebration of its 85th anniversary, and if the goal is met, the donor will match it! Keep an eye on your mailboxes and inboxes on how you can participate. Are you up for the challenge?
