FORT WORTH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA ADDS SEATS FOR TAN DUN’S ‘WATER CONCERTO’
Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra

April, 2011

By popular demand, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra is adding three rows of seats in front of the stage for the April 15-17 performances that include composer Tan Dun’s Water Concerto. The seats are in front orchestra, close to the action as virtuoso percussionist David Cossin plays the range of innovative water instruments called for in Tan’s hypnotic piece.

The added seats are priced at a bargain rate of $20 on Friday night, $22 on Saturday and Sunday. (Regular full prices for orchestra seats are $53 and $59.)

These concerts also include Beethoven’s powerful Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92, which had a starring role in this year’s Best Picture winner, The King’s Speech. Francisco Pulgar Vidal’s Huayno Sinfónico “Cascay” opens the concerts on Saturday and Sunday. Music Director Miguel Harth-Bedoya conducts.

Concerts are April 15, 16 and 17 at Bass Performance Hall. Performances start at 7:30 p.m. Friday, 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are available at www.fwsymphony.org or 817-665-6000.
