Artist talk with Jenine Bresser,
8:15 PM At Houston Center for Contemporary Craft

FREE

Presented by Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, Aurora Picture Show and Lawndale Art Center, with generous support from St. Arnold Brewing Company, Etsy Houston and Domy Books.

Handmade Nation is a documentary about the new wave of art, craft and design that is capturing the attention of the nation. Director, author, artist and curator Faythe Levine traveled to 15 cities and covered more than 19,000 miles to interview artists, crafters, makers, curators and community members for her feature film debut.

Come early for the film to enjoy a beer from St. Arnold Brewing Company and make a fun paper craft with volunteers from Etsy Houston. Handmade Nation books will be for sale from Domy Books. The screening starts at 7:00 PM and lasts an hour. Join artist Jenine Bresser next door at the Houston Center for Contemporary Craft for an artist talk following the screening at 8:15PM.
Greetings From the Director!

Happy New Year to all of our Lawndale friends!
I hope to see you all at Lawndale soon. We have so many exciting and provoking exhibitions and programs coming up in 2011 that you won't want to miss.

I would like to extend a special thanks to those of you who support us through contributions to our 2010 Annual Fund Campaign. Your enthusiasm and support for Lawndale makes what we do here everyday so meaningful.

Your contributions directly benefit contemporary art and artists at the grassroots, local level. You make it possible for Lawndale to continue to present quality exhibitions and programming free to everyone.  You make Lawndale an exciting place to come out see some art.  And...you enable us to look toward a bright future!

Many thanks and best wishes,
Christine Jelson West
