at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston
Brown Auditorium Theater

At this afternoon symposium, award-winning photographers, Kadir van Lohuizen and Stanley Greene will talk about their collaborative project Those Who Fell Through the Cracks that documents Hurricane Katrina´s effects on Gulf Coast residents still struggling to reestablish their lives after the storm. The project spans the Gulf Coast and covers a range of subjects, from fishing communities in Mississippi and Alabama to displaced families living in Houston. The project's ultimate goal is to shed light on the many individuals and communities who were most vulnerable before the storm and continue to be neglected.
Following their talks, van Lohuizen and Greene will be joined by evacuees, politicians, and community activists for a lively discussion about the successes, failures, and future of the ongoing Katrina recovery. The program concludes with a reception.
