Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) announced today that it has received a $1,000 CVS Caremark Community grant for its Children’s Clinic.  In the past year, the Clinic offered primary health care for children from infancy to age 18 and completed office visits, referrals, appointment calls, and case management for 8,200 children. The donation to NAM is part of the CVS Caremark Community Grants commitment to non-profit organizations.

NAM offers a variety of social services aimed at leading individuals to self-sufficiency and served over 148,000 individuals in its last fiscal year.  NAM President & CEO Carole Little said: “We are truly grateful for the CVS Caremark Community Grant.  This gift will help our Children’s Clinic continue to provide quality primary care for medically underserved children from birth through age eighteen.”

"Through this grant, we are assuring that more uninsured individuals in Houston receive needed care, that the care received is of high quality, and that the uninsured are served by medical providers and professionals who are dedicated to improving their lives and the lives of others," said Denny Tewell," area vice president, Texas, CVS/pharmacy.
