A Yoruba, BABATUNDE SOLARINwas born and raised in Nigeria, West Africa. He is an accomplished poet, sought-after storyteller, and winner of a 2006 Highlights' Book Award for his featured tale "In the Footsteps of Mama Bobo." His stories are modeled in the tradition of the ancient West African Griots.
