The Texas Native Trail winds through an 11-acre native area of the Botanical Garden allowing guests to experience three diverse ecosystems of Texas. Walk Across Texas® activities (8:00 a.m.-12:00 noon) include sampling Pioneer biscuits (compliments of C.H. Guenther & Son), guided garden tours, nature displays and children’s crafts and games.

The Botanical Garden has commissioned a Bird Watch to be built for the public to experience such birds as an Inca dove, red-shouldered hawk and long-billed thrasher - common in the Garden, but difficult to spot elsewhere in the city.
