AUSTIN, Texas — The Moody Foundation of Galveston is giving $2.5 million to public television station KLRU to help the show "Austin City Limits" move into its new studio.

The grant is the largest single gift ever received by the station. The nationally known "Austin City Limits" show is planning to move from its longtime studio at the University of Texas to a new one in downtown Austin.

The new venue, expected to be completed in December 2010, will be called the Moody Theater. It will seat about 2,750 people, up from the current studio's capacity of 320.

"Austin City Limits" is in its 35th season. It will move to the new studio after taping its 36th season.
