Allstate grants $627,500 to Texas nonprofits
The Allstate Foundation awarded funding to nearly 220 organizations throughout Texas in 2009. It presented $530,000 to organizations supporting the fight to end domestic violence, promoting safe teen driving and preventing auto theft on a regional and state level.
In addition, $97,500 was awarded across the state to nearly 200 organizations that Allstate exclusive agents volunteered with through the Agency Hands in the Community program.
Through the Agency Hands in the Community grant program, Allstate agents, financial specialists and employees are recognized for outstanding commitment to community service with a $500 donation to the charitable organizations where they volunteer.
To qualify for the grant, agents must show evidence of volunteer work that has had a positive impact on the local community.
