The University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College’s College of Education has received a $900,000 grant from the National Science Foundation that will provide scholarships to juniors and seniors who are pursuing careers as science and math teachers. If the students receive the scholarship funding, they will also be required to spend two years teaching at a Title One school, or those with a high percentage of low-income students.
